Take a look at the invite from Jeff Smart, the Documentry Producer:

SOOTY INVITES YOU TO A WORLD PREMIERE!....IN GUISELEY !!

You are invited to a very special sneak preview of a new documentary, featuring the story behind Guiseley's favourite son, and his teddy bear puppet Sooty!!

Harry Corbett and his family lived locally in Guiseley for over 35 years, and is one of the towns most celebrated hero's!

His life story and the creation of SOOTY, is a tale that has never been properly told before.

This two hour documentary finally lifts the lid on many unknown aspects of his life, and for the very first time we find out the true story behind televisions favourite teddy bear!

With contributions by the people at the heart of the story, and with access to many previously unseen documents and photos, this is the definitive story that will forever overturn the existing narrative.

So if you want to find out how Sooty really got his name, ...what motivated Harry to get into television, ...and the reason why puppet dog Sweep squeaks, then this is the event for you.

Please join us on the Sat October 1st for the World Premiere of this very special story.

In addition to the premiere itself, we have a number of special guests who will be in attendance, and a number of special activities to celebrate this once in a lifetime event!

Harrys son (and Sooty's handler for 25 years) Matthew Corbett will be there, as will Sooty's current right hand man Richard Cadell,.

Also appearing will be Brenda Longman (the voice of Soo), and many others who are a part of this special story.

So if you grew up with Sooty (who didn't!!), are a fan of Sooty ( who isn't? ) and want to relive some happy memories of your childhood (who wouldn't) , ....then this is the event for you!

Any profits from the event go to benefit a local good cause, for the provision of a community defibrillator for the Guiseley area.

Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start, with the event looking to finish by10pm.

Tickets for the event are limited, and are expected to sell out quickly, so get in early.

We are offering a special rate for Guiseley residents of only £10 per ticket, and will be your chance to be amongst the first to see the show.
(Sorry, but no tickets will be available on the night)

So come along and have fun, meet your hero's, celebrate a local hero, and support a good cause, You are very welcome!

Tickets are available via www.jpproductions.org.uk/boxoffice

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE EVENT!

(Please note: This is a factual documentary for a grown up audience aged 16 and upwards.
And as such is not a children's show, but a show for people who are children at heart!!
So we ask that you please don't book tickets for anyone under 16 years of age.
Any further enquiries or questions please contact us at sootydoco@gmail.com )
